The San Cristobal Quintessence is a handmade cigar from Don Pepin Garcia and the My Father Cigars factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. It has an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper that looks smooth and rich and inside are binder and filler tobaccos grown on the Garcia family’s farms. It’s medium to full bodied so it has plenty of flavor but not so much it’s overwhelming.
From the first draw you’ll get cedar, cocoa and coffee beans. As you smoke more the flavors open up with molasses, spice and a little natural sweetness. Black pepper, dried fruit and sugarcane add more character to the blend. The draw is easy, the burn is even and the smoke is creamy with a nice aroma. Every puff is different so it’s interesting from start to finish.
The San Cristobal Quintessence is popular with cigar fans but it’s also gotten high marks from critics. It got a 95-point rating and was ranked #3 Cigar of the Year in 2021 by Cigar Aficionado. With its award winning quality, balanced flavors and great construction the Quintessence is a cigar that belongs in every humidor. It’s perfect for after dinner, with friends or just a quiet moment with a great smoke.
