The Foundation Charter Oak Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro is a medium bodied cigar with lots of flavor. It has a dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, a Sumatra binder and filler from Estelí and Jalapa in Nicaragua. It’s smooth and chocolatey, earthy and a little cedar. Each puff shows the love that goes into this cigar.
This cigar was created by Nick Melillo to honor his grandfather who worked at the Winchester Repeating Arms factory after World War II. His grandfather only smoked Connecticut Broadleaf cigars and this is a tribute to that. The name “Charter Oak” comes from a famous tree in Connecticut which is a symbol of freedom and history.
Each cigar is hand made in Nicaragua at the Tabacos Valle de Jalapa (TABSA) factory. They come in a wooden box with the Charter Oak tree carved on top. Each box holds 20 cigars. These are great quality at a very fair price. Cigar Aficionado even called it the #1 best value cigar. If you want a cigar with real meaning behind it, this is the one.
